My real name is Julianne, but I go by Jubee on the Interwebs. I was born near Toronto, Canada and have lived here all my life. I like manatees, things that are dark purple, Doctor Who, indie music, and blueberries. I am currently finishing off a BA in East Asian Studies, and will start working towards a Master’s degree next year in Korean anthropology and modern history. I studied the Korean language from 2008-2012 at my university, and am currently continuing my studies on my own, as I’m planning to take the advanced-level TOPIK next spring.
I use this blog to keep a record of my studying, share resources that other self-studiers might find helpful, and complain about how much I don’t want to study hanja. Obviously I haven’t been self-studying from the beginning, but from my experiences in the past few months I think it’s a better way to learn than taking a class. Or maybe I just didn’t have the motivation before that I do now!
I also have a tumblr (pineapplegame) where I post the grammar structures that I’m learning for the TOPIK exam. 🙂
Feel free to email me should you have any questions or suggestions!
